Light straw in the glass. Again it is a constant dance of aromas and flavours with tones of candied lime, apricot nectar, lemon barley, dried honey, meadow flowers, ginger and jasmine all tied together with sleek Eden Valley acidity, finishing unctuous, sweet and long.

Heggies Vineyard Riesling from Eden Valley is a beautifully expressive and finely structured wine that perfectly captures the purity and precision of its high-altitude origins. Planted in the early 1970s, Heggies sits more than 500 metres above sea level on lean rocky soils of quartz and schist. This cool, elevated site produces Riesling grapes with remarkable natural acidity, delicate aromatics, and exceptional clarity — hallmarks of the Eden Valley style.
The fruit is hand picked in the cool of the morning to preserve freshness, then gently pressed and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel to highlight the pristine citrus and floral characters. A short time on lees adds subtle texture and depth without dulling the wine’s crisp, mineral edge.
In the glass it shows pale straw with green hues. The aroma is pure and vibrant, offering lime zest, lemon blossom, and green apple with hints of jasmine and wet slate. The palate is dry, racy, and beautifully balanced, showing layers of citrus and crunchy green fruit supported by taut acidity and a long, chalky finish. It’s both delicate and powerful, a classic example of Eden Valley Riesling at its best.
It pairs wonderfully with oysters, sashimi, Thai salads, or grilled fish, and it also complements dishes featuring lime, herbs, or spice. While refreshing and lively in its youth, it will evolve gracefully for fifteen years or more, gaining notes of honey, toast, and lanolin with age.
