Mid-straw and lively in the glass. Lifted aromas of guava, brown lime, stone fruit, wheat puff, white flowers and minerals. Fine, punchy and poised on the palate. Pithy acidity, lemon and lime, as well as a touch of phenolic grip delivers a palate that has drive, texture and length 10 May 2025 Drink 2025–2035

Jasper Hill riesling is an established Heathcote classic, a wine with 40+ years behind it and noteworthy individuality. Mid-yellow hues. White flowers, citrus blossom, jasmine aromatics join lime cordial, zest, citrus and pear. It's quite textural in its youth, pulpy and almost soft, and ripe in flavour. Lingers long on the finish.

Brilliant yellow colour with the usual aromatic citrus notes. Occasional lees stirring during fermentation gives a weighted riesling with a long finish. Think lemon in all its form, juice, zest and pith. Underlining limes and slight peachy fruit characters, finishing with a hint of viscosity. A wine to drink now but the natural zingy acidity gives this wine long lasting potential. Screw-cap sealed.

Jasper Hill Georgia's Paddock Riesling from Heathcote is a bold and characterful white wine that has earned cult status among Australian wine lovers. Crafted by Ron Laughton and his daughter Emily, this Riesling is grown on the estate’s iconic red Cambrian soils and farmed with a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic principles. It is one of the most distinctive expressions of Riesling in the country.
Planted in the mid-1990s within the Georgia's Paddock vineyard, these Riesling vines benefit from the mineral-rich ironstone soils and the slightly cooler pocket of Heathcote. The fruit is hand-picked and fermented with wild yeasts, with minimal intervention in the winery. There is no fining or filtration and only minimal sulphur is used, resulting in a wine that reflects its origin with honesty and precision.
On the nose, it opens with lifted aromatics of lime, lemon zest, white flowers and crushed stone. The palate is dry and textural, driven by citrus intensity, green apple and a firm line of acidity. There is a savoury, almost earthy mineral quality underneath the fruit that is distinctly Heathcote. As it ages, the wine develops layers of honeyed depth, spice and toast, gaining richness without losing its tension.
Perfect with grilled fish, pork dishes, or spicy Thai or Vietnamese food. This Riesling is equally compelling now and over the next ten to fifteen years for those who enjoy the evolution of bottle age.
