La Crema Monterey Chardonnay combines ripe nectarine, baked apple and toasted hazelnut with creamy texture & fresh citrus acidity
Clean aromas of lemon zest, lime pith and sliced apple show on the nose of this always reliable brand. The palate is energetic with familiar flavors of Meyer lemon and nectarine.
90 points Wine Enthusiast
California Chardonnay with a lovely coastal twist, La Crema Monterey celebrates the cool Pacific influences that make this region so exciting. Founded in 1979 and part of the Jackson family of wineries since 1993, La Crema specialises in cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Winemaker Craig McAllister draws on vineyards shaped by Monterey Bay's chilly breezes and long growing season, producing wines with generous fruit and refreshing acidity.
Pale gold with soft straw reflections. Ripe nectarine, baked apple and Meyer lemon mingle with vanilla, toasted hazelnut and a hint of warm pastry. The 2024 vintage is beautifully rounded, with juicy stone fruit, subtle oak richness and lively citrus freshness. A creamy texture leads to a lingering finish touched by gentle spice.
Delicious with crispy skinned barramundi and corn salsa, miso roasted cauliflower with sesame, or prawn and sweetcorn fritters with lime aioli.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2030. Lovely in its youth, with enough freshness for a few years of development.
