Dark ruby with aromas of damson plum, raspberry and red cherry fruits along with hints of red licorice, pressed flowers, red apple, ginger cake, wood spice and red berry pastries. Medium bodied, a lifted purple floral aspect to the palate, spacey and daubed with musk and dried citrus, with tight, fine-grained tannins and a sour-cherry swoosh on the exit. Great value here.

From the historic vineyards of the Barossa Valley comes a Grenache that pays tribute to resilience and rediscovery. Langmeil is one of the region’s most storied estates, with roots dating back to 1842 and home to some of the oldest surviving Shiraz vines in the world. The Rough Diamond Grenache takes its name from the idea that old vine parcels, once overlooked, can produce wines of remarkable character when carefully nurtured. Sourced from mature, dry grown Barossa vineyards planted on sandy loam and red brown earth, this wine reflects both the warmth of the region and the finesse that old vine Grenache can deliver.

Bright crimson with ruby highlights, the aromatics are lifted and generous. Ripe raspberry, red cherry and plum lead, followed by hints of white pepper, dried herbs and subtle spice. There is a gentle earthiness and savoury nuance that adds depth and authenticity.

On the palate it is medium to full bodied with a supple, rounded texture. Juicy red berry fruit sits at the core, supported by soft tannins and balanced acidity that keep the wine lively. Notes of spice, subtle oak and a touch of dark chocolate build through the mid palate, leading to a smooth, lingering finish. It captures the charm and approachability of Barossa Grenache while maintaining structure and poise.

Pair with slow roasted lamb shoulder, grilled Mediterranean vegetables, wood fired pizza or aged cheddar. Enjoy now for its fruit generosity, or cellar comfortably for eight to twelve years as it develops greater savoury complexity and integration.
