Lightweight and savoury rosé of tart cherry, cranberry, gentle woody spice and some dried, Italianate herbal elements in tow. Has fine, grippy texture amongst its vibrant, juicier fruit elements, a talc-like, powdery finish very appealing. Frisky, bright, delightful stuff here.

Longview Juno Nebbiolo Rosato from the Adelaide Hills is a dry, savoury rosé with real personality — far from a simple summer pink, this is a textured, food-driven wine made from Nebbiolo grown at high altitude in Macclesfield. Crafted in the Italian tradition, it’s named Juno after the Roman goddess of love and strength, and fittingly combines delicate aromatics with underlying structure and purpose.
Nebbiolo is not a common choice for rosé, but Longview’s winemaking team leans into the grape’s natural acidity and tannin to create a wine that is crisp, complex and refreshingly grown-up. The fruit is picked early and given just a short amount of skin contact to draw out its distinctive pale coral hue, before fermentation in stainless steel to retain energy and lift.
In the glass, it shows pale salmon colour with aromas of wild strawberry, blood orange, pink grapefruit and rose petal, laced with hints of savoury spice and dried herbs. The palate is dry and taut with bright acidity, subtle phenolic grip, and a mineral edge that lingers through the finish. It’s a rosé that works well on its own but truly shines with food.
Food pairing: Brilliant with charcuterie, grilled octopus, beetroot and goat cheese salad, or prosciutto-wrapped melon. Also great with roasted Mediterranean vegetables or light pasta dishes.
Cellar potential: Best enjoyed young and fresh within 1 to 3 years, but the structure and acidity give it the bones to hold a little longer than most rosés.
