An immediate floral and mineral lift precede aromas of fresh cape gooseberry, nettles and white peach. There’s a lemon twist with a soft white smoke quality. Crisp and dry with a backbone of acidity driving flavours of citrus and tropical gooseberry flavours. The nettles and mineral saline leesy features are persistent and frame the core flavours nicely. Well made, fresh and balanced with best drinking from 2025 through 2029.

Momo Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough is a lively and expressive wine that captures the fresh, vibrant spirit of New Zealand’s most celebrated white grape. Produced by Seresin Estate, one of Marlborough’s leading organic and biodynamic wineries, Momo (meaning “offspring” in Maori) is crafted with the same care and philosophy as the estate’s flagship wines, focusing on purity, balance and a strong sense of place.

The fruit is sourced from organically farmed vineyards across the Wairau Valley, where the region’s long sunny days, cool nights and stony river soils produce Sauvignon Blanc of intensity and precision. The grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation carried out in stainless steel using both wild and cultured yeasts. Lees contact for several months adds texture and subtle savoury complexity, rounding out the wine’s bright acidity and crisp fruit core.

In the glass it shines pale straw with green tints. The aroma is lifted and aromatic, showing passionfruit, lime zest and elderflower alongside notes of gooseberry, lemongrass and crushed herbs. The palate is fresh and zesty, with citrus and tropical fruit flavours balanced by a fine mineral backbone. A subtle creamy texture from lees ageing adds depth, leading to a long, mouthwatering finish.

It pairs beautifully with oysters, goat cheese, grilled fish, or fresh salads with herbs and citrus. It’s also an ideal companion for Thai or Vietnamese cuisine, where its zesty acidity and bright fruit can complement subtle spice and freshness. Best enjoyed young for its lively character, though it will hold well for up to three years.
