A blend of 85/10/20% syrah/pinot noir/pinot gris. A light, bright salmon pink. Just as engaging on the nose with its aromas of freshly picked raspberries, cranberry, some blood oranges and a touch of spice. Dry, flavoursome – but not too much so – and salivating. Mulline Vintners has grown quickly into one of the most exciting small producers in Victoria, and a creation of two Bens — winemaker Ben Mullen and business partner Ben Hine, the name a simple blend of their surnames.

Ben Mullen is a Barossa-born winemaker who spent a decade honing his craft across Australia, New Zealand and France before settling in Geelong and launching Mulline with Ben Hine in 2019. Their focus from the outset has been single-vineyard and subregional wines reflecting the distinct characters of Geelong's three subregions.

The 2024 Rosé blends Shiraz and Pinot Noir from the Moorabool Valley. The fruit was whole bunch pressed directly to old puncheon for a cool, unhurried fermentation before three months on full lees.

The wine is a bright salmon pink in the glass, and its aromas are engaging and fragrant, with freshly picked raspberries, cranberry, blood orange and a touch of spice. Dry and flavoursome on the palate with a salivating, mouthwatering quality that makes it genuinely hard to put down.

Everything you could ask from a rosé. Enjoy with a charcuterie spread and good sourdough, or a simple niçoise salad on a warmer afternoon.
