Classic NG expression with a core of ripe red and dark berry fruits, cherry and dried raspberry, a fine layer of savoury dried herb, layers of soil spice and barrel spice. Firm and dry with an abundance of tannins, polished and distinctive, a backbone of acidity and fruit freshness. Bright, lengthy, varietal and complex, a wine that can be enjoyed today or cellared with best drinking from 2027 through 2035+.

Pinot noir from the Queensberry and Bendigo estate vineyards blended with fruit from across a number of Central Otago subregions. Wild strawberry, raspberry and red plum fruits with a layer of medina spice, light sous bois notes, some distant struck flint, purple florals, thyme, light amaro herbs and crushed rock. Lovely pure fruits and plenty of schisty tannin chew – not drying but melding into the fruit and matching its form nicely. Finishes with a fine mineral energy and flow.

Drawn from high altitude vineyards scattered across Central Otago, this Pinot Noir captures the dramatic alpine character that defines the region. Nanny Goat focuses on steep, schist laden slopes where low yields and intense sunlight build flavour while cold nights preserve acidity. The style leans toward purity and energy, aiming to show bright fruit and fine structure rather than heavy extraction.
Winemaking is careful and modern, designed to protect perfume and texture. Gentle handling keeps tannins silky, while restrained oak adds shape without masking the fruit. The result is a Pinot that feels polished yet lively, combining ripeness with mountain freshness.
Bright ruby in colour, the aromas open with cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, followed by rose petal, thyme and a faint earthy spice. The palate is medium bodied and supple, with red fruit wrapped in fine tannins and crisp acidity. Flavours of berry and savoury herb run long, finishing clean and mineral with a subtle alpine snap.
It pairs beautifully with duck, pork, mushroom dishes and herb driven cooking. Drinking impressively now, it will hold comfortably for six to eight years, developing earthy nuance.
This is Central Otago Pinot in a vibrant register, fragrant, silky and shaped by altitude.
