Full-bodied, rich and textured blend of Polish Hill River and Armagh fruit
From a classic Clare vintage, this opens with ripe red berry and stone fruit aromas laced with savoury notes of tapenade and cedar. The full-bodied, chewy palate is rich in red and black fruit and toasty undertones of coffee and peppery spice.
There’s no mistaking a good Clare red, and this one delivers in spades. Enjoy a glass or two with charcoal-grilled lamb kofte and sumac red onions in a warm pita, or seared tempeh steaks glazed with pepper and garlic soy and a side of charred green beans.
More about this wine
This wine was made with fruit from two vineyards: one in the cooler subregion of Polish Hill River, the other in Armagh, a warmer, northern part of Clare Valley.
Each parcel of fruit was vinified separately in two- and four-tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. The wine matured for 18 months in Frenc oak barrels, most of which were well seasoned.
About this producer

Today, they combine their experience with new blood in the cellar, brought in by Vivian Tu and Nick’s son Jack Walker. Fruit is sourced from David and Nick’s respective family vineyards, as well as long term contract growers.
