Half Bottle 375ml
Pascal Reverdy’s domaine is based in the tiny hamlet of Maimbray. Maimbray is located in a valley surrounded by chalk hills adjacent to Chavignol and Verdigny. From their small cellar they produce one of France’s most highly awarded Sancerres.
The Pascal Reverdy Sancerre Terre de Maimbray is a classic Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc that captures the elegance, purity, and minerality of Sancerre. The Reverdy family has been producing wine in the village of Maimbray for generations, and their vineyards sit on the limestone and clay soils that give the wines their distinctive balance of fruit and flinty tension. Pascal Reverdy is regarded as one of the top producers in the appellation, crafting wines with both approachability and longevity.
In the glass it is pale straw with green highlights. The bouquet is lifted and refined, showing citrus zest, gooseberry and green apple alongside delicate notes of white flowers, crushed herbs and wet stone. On the palate it is crisp, precise and mineral-driven, with zesty lemon and grapefruit flavours supported by a fine chalky backbone and refreshing acidity. A touch of saline complexity leads into a long, clean, and elegant finish that speaks clearly of its terroir in Maimbray.
Food pairings reflect its freshness and minerality: freshly shucked oysters, goat’s cheese (especially Crottin de Chavignol, the region’s classic pairing), grilled white fish, or a summer salad with citrus dressing. It also pairs beautifully with sushi or light vegetarian dishes such as asparagus risotto. Best enjoyed young for its vibrancy, but it can also cellar for 5 to 7 years, gaining hints of honey and toast while retaining its mineral edge.
