Lighter-bodied Pinot with earthy red berry flavours from a high elevation vineyard in the cool continental climate Orange, NSW
From Estate vineyards in the Orange region, this Pinot Noir has the benefit of fruit growing at a higher altitude, with a cooler climate, than most. Garnet with a ruby russet rim, the nose exhibits raspberries and cherries, a hint of orange rind, aniseed, florals and spices. It is a most appealing nose and leads us to an elegant, well balanced, seamless Pinot Noir palate, with a fine line of acidity running the length. That palate offers hints of truffles and there is very good length. A lot to like here and every reason to believe that it will improve further over the next six to eight years. Drink to 2034.

Pepper Tree is a Pokolbin based winery established in 1991. A family-owned business lead since 2002 by John Davis, its broad portfolio draws on fruit grown in four vineyards across Hunter Valley and Orange in NSW, and Wrattonbully and Coonawarra in South Australia.
This light-bodied Pinot comes from the high elevation estate vineyard in the cool continental climate Orange in NSW. The destemmed fruit was cold soaked for five days before being inoculated with a cultivated yeast strain and the pressed wine matured in French oak puncheons.
