Bright cherry fruit silky tannins and authentic Tuscan character in a vibrant everyday red.
The Piccini family has been producing wine in Tuscany since 1882, when Angiolo Piccini purchased seven hectares of vineyards with the dream of creating authentic wines that reflected the region's rich heritage. More than five generations later, that passion continues, with Piccini recognised around the world for crafting approachable, character filled wines that remain true to their Tuscan origins.
Made predominantly from Sangiovese grown across the rolling hills of the Chianti DOCG, the 2024 vintage captures the freshness and vibrancy of this famous wine region. A combination of warm sunshine, cooling breezes and varied soils allows the grapes to ripen evenly, producing a Chianti with bright fruit, lively acidity and the savoury edge that makes the style such a pleasure to drink.
The colour is a brilliant ruby red with purple highlights. Fragrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry are complemented by violet, dried thyme and a touch of cinnamon spice. The palate is bright and juicy, with vibrant red berry fruit, fine silky tannins and refreshing acidity working in harmony. Gentle notes of liquorice, earth and dried herbs add depth before a smooth, savoury finish that lingers with classic Chianti character.
Enjoy with margherita pizza, pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, grilled rosemary chicken, roasted capsicum and ricotta cannelloni, or a platter of aged Pecorino and cured Italian meats. Drinking beautifully now, it will continue to show its best over the next four to six years.
