Ripe pear white peach citrus and mountain freshness from the high vineyards of Mendoza.
Pulenta Estate is one of Argentina's most respected family wineries, where brothers Hugo and Eduardo Pulenta continue a proud winemaking tradition spanning four generations. While renowned for world class Malbec, the estate also crafts outstanding white wines from the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza. XIV Pinot Gris is named in honour of the family's Italian heritage and showcases a fresh, vibrant interpretation of this increasingly popular variety.
The fruit is sourced from elevated vineyards at the foothills of the Andes, where abundant sunshine, cool mountain nights and pristine growing conditions preserve aromatic intensity and natural acidity. The 2024 vintage delivered beautifully balanced fruit, allowing the winery to produce a Pinot Gris with purity, texture and impressive varietal definition.
The colour is a brilliant pale straw with silver green highlights. Aromas of ripe pear, white peach and nashi pear are complemented by lemon blossom, citrus zest and a hint of ginger spice. The palate is fresh and silky, balancing generous orchard fruit with crisp acidity and a delicate mineral thread. Subtle notes of melon and grapefruit linger through a long, refreshing finish that is both vibrant and elegant.
A delicious match for grilled prawns, fresh crab, sushi, Thai chicken salad, roast pork with apple or creamy mushroom pasta. Enjoy over the next three to five years while its bright fruit and lively freshness are at their peak.
