Shaw + Smith was founded in 1989 by cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill-Smith MW, the latter Australia's first Master of Wine. Over three and a half decades they have built one of the Adelaide Hills' most trusted and consistent labels known for their refined expressions of the region.

From the cool 2024 season, most of the grapes for this wine were sourced from the certified organic estate vineyard in Balhannah. The fruit was handpicked, and fermented in small parcels, either fully destemmed or as whole bunches with for the winery typical gentle handling and long fermentation periods. The pressed wine was matured for twelve months in primarily seasoned French oak barrels.

Perfumed and balanced, this attractive red is a great expression of Adelaide Hills Shiraz. Drinking well on release, it has the potential to age for many years in the bottle. Serve lightly chilled at 16-18 degrees to enjoy the wine at its best.
