Te Mata Alma Pinot Noir captures the elegance of Hawke's Bay with silky red fruits, refined structure and cool-climate charm.
Smoky aromas of fresh and dried strawberries with orange peel follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate. Lightly dry tannins frame the wine beautifully. So savory. Solid and structured yet highly approachable at the end. Drink or hold.

A distinctive and different expression of pinot fruit with sweetly perfumed yet waxy notes of cascara tea, red dates and oriental spice. The palate is concentrated, remaining in the higher register of red fruit and sweet herb flavours, underpinned by tight, grainy, tea-like tannins which emphasise its fresh acidity. Hints of oak emerge on the finish to anchor the otherwise lilting flavours, allowing it to slowly sweeten across the long finish. Still youthful, it will improve in bottle with some deeper-pitched flavours to appear in time. 31 Mar 2026 2026–2033

Te Mata has been one of New Zealand's most respected wineries since 1896, with a reputation built on wines that faithfully express the character of Hawke's Bay. Alma, named in honour of a pioneering member of the Buck family, reflects the estate's dedication to producing elegant, site driven Pinot Noir. Grown in the cool inland vineyards of the Dartmoor Valley, it showcases a vibrant and distinctly New Zealand expression of this noble variety.
The 2024 vintage delivered beautifully balanced fruit, with cool nights preserving freshness while warm days encouraged slow, even ripening. Careful vineyard management and gentle winemaking have produced a Pinot Noir of purity, finesse and remarkable drinkability, allowing the fruit and regional character to take centre stage.
Bright ruby with crimson highlights, the bouquet opens with aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry layered with rose petals, subtle spice and delicate forest floor notes. The palate is silky and beautifully poised, combining vibrant red berry fruit with fine tannins, lively acidity and a gentle savoury edge. Elegant and expressive, the finish lingers with floral perfume, spice and refined texture.
Perfect with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, herb roasted chicken or a charcuterie board featuring soft cheeses. Deliciously approachable on release, this beautifully crafted Pinot Noir will continue to evolve gracefully over the next six to eight years.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2032.
