2024 Vivera Altrove Bianco IGP Organic, Mount Etna Sicily

Vivera is one of Sicily's leading organic estates, with the family farming vineyards across some of the island's most distinctive wine regions. Their vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna are among the most prized, where ancient volcanic soils, high elevations and cooling mountain breezes create wines of remarkable freshness and character. The name Altrove, meaning "elsewhere", reflects the winery's desire to craft wines that transport drinkers to a unique place, capturing the energy and beauty of Sicily's volcanic landscape.

Produced from organically grown native and international varieties, Altrove Bianco showcases the vibrant personality of Etna's elevated vineyards. The 2024 vintage delivered excellent fruit quality, with warm Mediterranean sunshine balanced by cool nights that preserved freshness and aromatic detail. Careful handling in the winery allows the fruit and terroir to remain the focus, resulting in a wine that is expressive, refreshing and distinctly Sicilian.

Pale straw with bright green highlights, the nose opens with aromas of lemon blossom, white peach and green apple layered with hints of wild herbs and citrus zest. The palate is lively and beautifully balanced, offering flavours of ripe pear, grapefruit and stone fruits supported by crisp acidity and a subtle mineral edge. The volcanic soils contribute a distinctive saline character that adds complexity and drive, while the finish remains clean, refreshing and elegantly persistent.
