2024 Voyager Estate Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River

Voyager Estate was established in 1978 on the gravelly soils of Stevens Valley in southern Margaret River, one of the coolest and most maritime-influenced parts of the region. More open to the Southern Ocean than the forested northern subregions, the south experiences a notably different growing environment — stronger maritime influence, gravelly and alluvial soils over granite and ironstone, and a climate that naturally extends the ripening season and builds finesse alongside concentration. The estate has been farming organically since 2017 and received full certification in 2023. All fruit is estate grown across five vineyards.

The Coastal sits at the approachable end of the Voyager Estate range, offering an earlier drinking expression of the estate's Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with small contributions of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The 2024 was the earliest vintage on record for Margaret River — warm, dry and fast-paced, with three distinct heat events through summer. Yields were lighter than average, but ripening was even and fruit quality exceptional. Chief Winemaker Tim Shand has placed the 2024 Cabernet alongside the celebrated 2022 vintage for its fruit weight, freshness and vibrancy.
