Amelia Park Chardonnay is a beautifully expressive Margaret River white that captures everything people love about the region. The vineyards sit close to the Indian Ocean, where cooling sea breezes, long sunny days and gravelly loam soils allow Chardonnay to ripen slowly, building flavour while retaining freshness and a gentle saline edge. This maritime influence is what gives Margaret River Chardonnay its signature balance and elegance.
Amelia Park was founded by the Hohnen family, one of the great names in Margaret River wine history. Their approach is all about vineyard expression and careful winemaking, using oak and lees to add texture while keeping the fruit and terroir at the centre of the wine.
In the glass, the wine shows white peach, nectarine and citrus, layered with cashew, light toast and a subtle struck match note. The palate is creamy yet precise, with bright acidity and a long, savoury, mineral driven finish. It is generous without being heavy, and refined without being austere.
This is a superb food wine. Grilled fish, prawns, roast chicken, pork with herbs, creamy pasta or rich vegetable dishes all work beautifully with its texture and freshness.
Amelia Park Chardonnay drinks well on release but will also reward five to eight years in the cellar, gaining more nutty and savoury complexity as it evolves. It is a classic, modern Margaret River Chardonnay that delivers both pleasure and pedigree.
