A blend of estate cabernet sauvignon/merlot/shiraz. A light, bright salmon. Subtle aromas of red berries, tangerines and spice lead onto the palate, which is dry, moreish and nicely persistent. A well-crafted wine to have in the fridge and ready to go this summer!

Bannockburn 1314 Rosé from Geelong is a vibrant, textural and beautifully expressive rosé that captures the spirit of this historic estate and its cool, windswept vineyards around Bannockburn. The fruit is drawn from estate blocks planted on volcanic basalt, limestone and ancient clay loams that give the wine its lively acidity, gentle savoury edge and fine mineral thread. Bannockburn has long been a leader in thoughtful, site focused winemaking, and the 1314 range celebrates the estate’s modern, drink-now side without losing any of its pedigree. This rosé is typically made from Pinot Noir with a touch of other estate varieties depending on the season, all hand picked and pressed gently to capture purity, delicacy and a soft, natural colour.

Fermentation is cool and slow in stainless steel to protect lift and fragrance, followed by a spell on fine lees to build texture. There is no heavy-handed winemaking here, just clarity and precision that let the vineyard shine. The nose is bright and charming, full of wild strawberry, watermelon, red cherry and cranberry, threaded with hints of white peach, pink grapefruit, rose petal and soft spice. A faint mineral undertone drifts beneath the fruit, reflecting Geelong’s ancient soils and coastal breezes.

The palate is energetic, silky and beautifully balanced. Juicy red berry flavours glide across a fine, lightly creamy mid palate, supported by crisp acidity that keeps the wine refreshing and mouthwatering. Notes of strawberry, pomegranate, peach skin, citrus zest and a touch of savoury dried herb move in clean, elegant layers. The finish is long, dry and quietly sophisticated with lingering berries, florals and a cool mineral echo. It’s irresistible now and best enjoyed in its youthful, vibrant phase.

Perfect with seafood platters, prawns, roasted chicken salads, charcuterie, sushi, grilled vegetables, light pastas, pizza, creamy cheeses or simply chilled with friends on warm days.
