Medium-bodied Barossa Valley old vine Grenache with ripe, juicy fruit and silty tannins
The Able Seaman Grenache is a vibrant and juicy medium-bodied red that leans into elegant aromatic detail and gentle structure. Best served cool, it is delicious on its own and handles a large spread of dishes with ease.
The grapes were sourced from two old vine vineyards in the southern Barossa Valley between Lyndoch and Rowland Flat, with vines in both sites soon celebrating their 100th birthdays.
The fruit was handpicked and de-stemmed ahead of a brief cold soak with a small inclusion of whole punches for enhanced perfume and freshness. The hand plunged ferments were pressed after twenty days on skins and matured for twelve months in large, well-seasoned oak barrels, racked, blended and naturally clarified in preparation for bottling.
