Round and rich, with a core of strawberry and tart cherry fruit flavours and a long, refreshing finish.

Figuière is a family run Provençal estate overlooking the Mediterranean at La Londe les Maures, between Toulon and Saint Tropez. Alain Combard acquired the property in 1992 after years working in Chablis, bringing a distinctly precise approach to Provence. Today his children Magali, François and Delphine continue the story, with organic farming and the cooling influence of the sea central to the Figuière style.
The Méditerranée Rosé is the easygoing introduction to the range, built around classic southern French varieties and made for freshness rather than weight. Mediterranean sunshine gives ripe fruit, while coastal breezes help retain the acidity essential to good Provence rosé. The 2025 is pale, dry and breezy, but importantly there is enough fruit and savoury detail to keep it from becoming anonymous pink water.
Very pale salmon pink with silver flashes. Wild strawberry, white peach and pink grapefruit lead into watermelon and delicate blossom. Blood orange, fresh fennel and a subtle herbal note sit underneath. The palate is crisp and juicy, with red berries and citrus carried by lively acidity. Grapefruit peel and a faint saline character give the finish a clean, dry snap.
Grilled prawns with garlic, lemon and saffron sound particularly good, while tuna niçoise, zucchini flowers filled with ricotta, charred octopus or tomatoes with burrata and basil can turn it into a proper Mediterranean lunch. Cold bottle, warm afternoon, seafood on the table. Provence has built an entire industry around worse ideas.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2029.
