95 points I Top Gold I Trophy Best Rose 2025 Canberra and Region Wine Show
Medium full salmon-pink to terracotta roof tile hue; shy, reserved and savoury, developed aromas. The palate is quite delicate and has bright acidity adding a tangy feel, ending refreshingly, appetising dry. Really good drinkability. Drink 2025 to 2028.
90 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, December 2025
Collector Wines launched in 2005 with the inaugural release of the Marked Tree Red Shiraz. A NSW Wine of the Year, it articulated what quintessential Canberra District Shiraz could be. Alex McKay is the winemaker behind the label — his deep understanding of the Canberra District and its surroundings built through years of careful listening to what each site is capable of. The wines, named after artworks rather than vineyards, are a quiet reflection of that philosophy: elegant, considered and never trying to be anything other than what the site allows.
The Shoreline draws Sangiovese from two sites — Tumblong in Gundagai and Murrumbateman in the Canberra District — whole-bunch pressed to yield the barest flush of colour. A cool ferment and early bottling preserve freshness and lifted aromatics.
Pale salmon in the glass, with mandarin, cherry, rose-water and spice on the nose. The palate is crisp and bright, with moreish mid-palate texture and mouth-watering acidity that finishes clean and dry.
Drink while young and fresh. Good company for a spread of antipasti or anything light and fresh off the grill.
