A delightful example of Aussie chenin with yellow apple, nashi pear and citrus, followed by beeswax, wet stone and quince. The palate is chewy and mid-weighted with lovely freshness and tension underneath a complex, packed palate. Very well constructed.

Light yellow, with apple and pear aromatics, a spicy overlay probably from the barrels, a hint of straw, and cashewnut as the wine warms in the glass. Light bodied and crisp, fresh, clean and refreshing, with again that green-apple acidity cleansing the finish. Very appealing and true to variety. Drink to 2037.

Chenin Blanc is an inspired choice for Beechworth and Peter Graham’s thoughtful approach at Domenica brings out the variety’s remarkable versatility. Having worked extensively in Europe before establishing his own label, Graham focuses on small batch wines that highlight texture, restraint and vineyard expression. The granitic soils and elevated sites around Beechworth allow Chenin to ripen slowly, developing flavour intensity while holding onto the vibrant acidity that gives the grape its signature drive. The 2025 release feels especially pure and energetic, capturing both freshness and subtle complexity.

Pale straw with bright green flashes, the wine opens with lifted aromas of quince, green apple and lemon zest layered alongside chamomile, pear skin and a gentle hint of beeswax. There is a lovely mineral clarity that keeps everything feeling precise. The palate is finely textured and quietly powerful, citrus and orchard fruits gliding across a chalky frame of racy acidity. Subtle notes of grapefruit pith, almond and wet stone add dimension, finishing long, dry and mouthwatering with a lingering savoury edge.

This is the kind of white that feels equally at home on a sunlit table or beside more serious dishes.
