Golden Child has built a following for wines that feel a little less buttoned up, and Manic Monday Pinot Noir fits that brief perfectly. Winemaker James Hamilton works with Adelaide Hills fruit to capture brightness and drinkability, leaning into a lighter touch that keeps things energetic and expressive.
The 2025 release is all about vibrancy. Light ruby in the glass, the aromatics are lifted and playful, red cherry, strawberry and raspberry jumping out first, followed by a hint of spice, dried herbs and a gentle floral note.
The palate is juicy and easy flowing, with red fruits gliding across a soft, silky frame. Tannins are fine and unobtrusive, while a line of fresh acidity keeps everything lively and refreshing. There is a subtle savoury edge that adds interest, but the focus is firmly on drinkability, finishing clean and moreish.
This is made for relaxed, flavour driven food. Think chargrilled chicken, duck tacos or mushroom dishes where its bright fruit and freshness can shine. It also works beautifully slightly chilled.
Best enjoyed in its youth over the next three to five years while that vibrant fruit is at its peak.
There is a fun, carefree energy here, a Pinot Noir that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still delivers plenty of charm.
