Fragrant Chardonnay from cool-climate, maritime Denmark with balanced stone fruit flavours
A cracking Chardonnay from the Denmark sub-region of the Great Southern, maturation includes a spell in French oak. Straw/pale gold in hue, this is a fragrant style with touches of cinnamony oak, nutmeg, stone fruits and apricot skins. Good intensity throughout, the wine is well balanced with excellent length. It is well focused and that intensity is maintained for the full journey. A lovely style, thoroughly enjoyable, and will remain so for the next six to eight years. Drink to 2034.

The wine opens with stone fruit and green melon, with a hint of green pineapple, tinned pear and a shake of sweet, peppery spice. It's elementary but come hither in its make-up. A peachy, soft, easy-drinking chardonnay. Drink to 2029.
90 points Mike Bennie for Halliday Wine Companion, September 2026
Made from estate grown fruit, this Chardonnay was barrel fermented in a combination of new and second fill French oak barriques and puncheons. These were lees stirred weekly until malolactic conversion, with the wine spending a total of nine months in the barrels.
Enjoy with a mild Nyonya style chicken curry or butter basted seared barramundi.
About this producer
Winemaker James Kellie’s years as a contract winemaker for growers across the Great Southern region gave him unique insights into its diversity and potential. His love for the region led him to purchase a former client, Harewood Estate, in 2003 with his wife Careena. This commitment came with building a winery from scratch and a clear ambition: to make wines that reflect the full breadth of the Great Southern rather than a single corner of it.
