Medium-bodied Riesling with floral aromas and a strong citrus flavours
Riesling from the Great Southern continues to impress more and more, and these guys are certainly amongst the better exponents of the style. The 2025 vintage is proving to be an excellent one. The fruit is sourced from a single vineyard. A lime/lemon hue, there are rich aromatics here with notes of jasmine, wet pebbles, bath salts, citrus and a touch of honeysuckle. The citrus is a mix of grapefruit and limes and, as the wine opens up, is very much to the fore. A Riesling of medium length which retains freshness and focus, as well as balance and drive throughout. It will provide great pleasure over the next decade. Drink to 2036.

Winemaker James Kellie’s years as a contract winemaker for growers across the Great Southern region gave him unique insights into its diversity and potential. His love for the region led him to purchase a former client, Harewood Estate, in 2003 with his wife Careena. This commitment came with building a winery from scratch and a clear ambition: to make wines that reflect the full breadth of the Great Southern rather than a single corner of it.
This medium-bodied Riesling is the result of free-run juice fermented long and cool in stainless steel. Intensely floral talc aromas greet you on the nose, while the palate is defined by ripe citrus flavours rounded by spicy white stone fruit and mouth-watering freshness.
This would sit well with grilled squid simply tossed with good olive oil, flaky salt and minced garlic and flat-leaf parsley. Equally nice with kingfish sashimi with a side of shaved fennel and finger lime.
