More about this wine
This vintage is a 40/36/24 blend of fruit from vineyards in Derwent Valley, Tamar Valley and the Tasmanian Northwest.
The parcels were fermented on skins (14%), in seasoned barrels (40%) and in stainless steel (36%). The blended wine went through malolactic conversion and rested on lees in stainless steel before it was bottled without fining or filtration.
About this producer
Brothers Matthew and Jonathan Hughes are the names behind this label. Their 2011 established Flowerpot vineyard is a former cherry orchard on the banks of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and is planted to Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It is the source for their Mewstone wines, while fruit for the Hughes + Hughes label is sourced from other growers in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel area as well as select vineyards in Coal River Valley, Derwent Valley and the Tasmanian Northwest.
