2025 Leeuwin Estate Rose, Margaret River

Leeuwin Estate Rosé is a beautifully polished and quietly sophisticated expression of Margaret River, made with the same attention to detail that has made the estate one of Australia’s most respected names. The vineyards sit close to the Indian Ocean, where cooling sea breezes, bright sunshine and long ripening seasons allow fruit to develop flavour while retaining freshness. Leeuwin Estate was established in the early 1970s by Denis and Tricia Horgan and quickly became a cornerstone of the Margaret River story, famously supported in its early days by Robert Mondavi. While the estate is best known for its iconic Art Series wines, the rosé is treated with the same seriousness. It is made in a dry, refined style that reflects place rather than trend, favouring delicacy, texture and food friendliness.

The wine is pale and bright in the glass, immediately signalling restraint. Aromas are fresh and lifted, with wild strawberry, raspberry and watermelon joined by hints of rose petal, citrus peel and a gentle savoury note. On the palate, it is crisp and finely textured, with red berry fruit carried by clean acidity. There is a subtle mineral and saline edge on the finish that speaks clearly of its coastal Margaret River origins.
