Nanny Goat Chardonnay captures the purity of Central Otago with vibrant citrus and refined cool-climate elegance.
A certified-organic single-vineyard chardonnay from the Queensbury subregion. Light straw in the glass with aromas of green apple, white nectarine, peach and grapefruit, along with hints of spiced oatmeal, struck flint, crème fraîche, meadow flowers, crushed minerals, grilled nuts, vanillin oak, biscuity oak, clotted cream and a wisp of struck match. Complex and layered with spice and flint tendrils swirling through the ripe fruit, acidity keeping everything in check and providing ample drive and clarity. The flavours show plenty of sustain at the back end. Drink to 2034.

Central Otago may be renowned for Pinot Noir, but its cool alpine climate is also producing Chardonnay of remarkable purity and finesse. Nanny Goat Vineyard draws fruit from carefully selected vineyard sites across the region, crafting wines that capture the freshness, precision and vibrant energy of New Zealand's spectacular southern landscapes. This Chardonnay is a beautifully balanced expression of place, combining bright fruit with refined winemaking.
The 2025 vintage delivered exceptional fruit, with warm sunny days and cool nights preserving natural acidity while encouraging slow, even flavour development. Careful whole bunch pressing, wild fermentation and restrained oak maturation have created a Chardonnay of elegance, texture and impressive regional character.
Pale straw with bright green highlights, the bouquet reveals aromas of white peach, nectarine and lemon zest layered with grapefruit, white blossom and subtle flinty notes. The palate is beautifully poised, combining vibrant citrus and stone fruit with creamy texture, lively acidity and a fine mineral thread. Long, refreshing and impeccably balanced, the finish lingers with citrus, gentle oak spice and chalky freshness.
Pair with grilled prawns, seared scallops, roast chicken, creamy mushroom risotto or fresh burrata with lemon and herbs. Delicious on release, this expressive Chardonnay has the balance to develop additional complexity over the next five to seven years.
