A blend of 56/38/6% cabernet sauvignon/merlot/malbec. From three vineyards in Healesville and Seville. Exceptional value as always, but maybe even more so in this very good vintage. A brilliant purple with aromas of pure blackcurrant, cherry skins and crushed violets. Medium bodied, this is at once elegant and focused, with very fine-grained, persistent tannins. A class act to drink now and over the next six to eight years. Drink to 2034.

Cabernets is a classic Yarra Valley blend, bringing together Cabernet Sauvignon with complementary Bordeaux varieties to capture the elegance that has made the region famous. The cool climate, ancient soils and long growing season allow the fruit to ripen slowly, creating a wine with vibrant aromatics, fine tannins and remarkable freshness. It is an outstanding value red that drinks well above its price point.

About this producer

Rob Hall established his namesake Yarra Valley label in 2014 following a decade at Mount Mary and several years at Kellybrook. His fruit driven wines are made from traditional Yarra varietals Cabernet, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The main source for his grapes is his own three-hectare vineyard near Healesville planted in 1996 by his parents, complimented by contract-grown fruit from Yarra Glen and Gladysdale.
