Structured, earthy and spicy Geelong Pinot with juicy red and black fruit
Alluring aromas of red and black fruit with spice, sweet sappy notes and hints of oak. The palate is juicy and long with raspberries, plums, and sweet cherries with earthy and spicy notes on the finish.
More about this wine
The fruit was sourced across estate sites on the Bellarine Peninsula with the final blend including Pinot clones MV6, 114 and 115. The fruit was destemmed into small stainless-steel fermenters with a 15% inclusion of whole bunches and cold soaked for five days before the fermenters started with indigenous yeasts. The wine was then pressed to a combination of new to four-year-old French barriques for malolactic conversion and a twelve-month maturation.
About this producer
Established in 1982, Scotchmans Hill is the Bellarine Peninsula’s oldest winery and one of the region’s most consistent producers. Chief winemaker Robin Brockett, a Halliday Hall of Fame inductee with over 35 years at the estate, has been instrumental in establishing the Bellarine as a serious cool-climate wine region.
