2025 The Lane Series Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills

From the cool, elevated vineyards of the Adelaide Hills, The Lane Series Chardonnay captures the freshness and elegance that have made the region one of Australia’s most exciting homes for the variety. The Lane Vineyard sits high in the Adelaide Hills near Hahndorf and has been producing wines since the early 1990s. Today the wines are crafted by winemaker Sam Milne, who focuses on highlighting the purity of the fruit and the natural balance that comes from the vineyard’s altitude and cool climate. The Series range represents wines that express the classic character of the estate’s vineyards while remaining approachable and vibrant.

The wine shows a pale straw colour with bright green highlights. Aromas open with white peach, nectarine and lemon zest layered with grapefruit, subtle oak spice and hints of toasted hazelnut. As the wine evolves in the glass gentle notes of almond and brioche begin to emerge, adding complexity without overshadowing the freshness of the fruit. The palate is vibrant and well balanced with flavours of citrus, stone fruit and a touch of roasted nut supported by lively acidity and a smooth texture from careful oak maturation. The finish is long and refreshing with a fine mineral thread that reflects the cool climate vineyards of the Adelaide Hills.
