Dry, fresh and flinty Tasmanian Riesling with notes of citrus, red apples, and jasmine
Holm Oak is a family winery in Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania, run by winemaker Bec Duffy and her viticulturist husband Tim. Vines were first planted on the Holm Oak property in 1983, and the Duffys have been making wine here since 2006, building a strong reputation for elegant and well-priced cool-climate wines.
The vineyard is planted to three unknown clones of Riesling. One tends to produce fruit with notable citrus tones, one is more floral and the third is often a combination of the other two.
The 2026 fruit was harvested at 12.0 Baume, pressed to tank, racked and inoculated with a cultivated yest strain. The cool fermented wine was lightly fined and filtered ahead of an early bottling that aimed to maintain maximum freshness and aromatics in the wine.
The result is a somewhat flinty house style lifted floral aromatics and a strong citrus backbone that in 2026 comes across a touch fuller-bodied than some of the previous vintages. The nose displays aromas of lime leaf and jasmine with some spiced apple, whilst the palate offers fantastic fruit purity and finishes dry.
A joy to drink on release, the Holm Oak Rieslings cellar confidently for ten plus years.
