By now Skin-n-Bones – once the punk rock anarchist of the line-up – is a trusted best mate. And in 2021 – a unicorn of a growing season – with no serious heat and a bountiful harvest, there was no pressure to get the fruit off the vine, despite the notoriously narrow Pinot Noir picking window. We have been able to translate this mellowed out, easy-rider spirit straight to the bottle. A Pinot squarely in the frame where we want it to sit every vintage: raspberry red, chewy fruit, undergrowth spice, everything. Young and beautiful with a lingering finish. It truly is all that.
100% Lenswood Pinot Noir, four Pinot Noir clones predominantly MV6 ,wild yeasts, 30 days on skins, unfiltered & unfined, 10% new & 90% neutral French oak for six months.
Intense aromatics are always the order of the day for Skin-n-Bones Pinot Noir. This vintage, add brilliantly bright as you may find yourself staring and sniffing for hours before you actually get around to tasting it. Sandalwood, musk… maybe something a little skunky (in the illicit sense of the word)? To taste, the wine is a glossy, glinting fresh red cherry pie with undertones of soft young herbs. A deeply varietal look at Pinot Noir from a vintage that ticked every one of these grapes’ boxes.
