The new wines of Weingut Loimer are made from biodynamic agriculture - mainly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, but also Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fred Loimer and his team produce wines that are not vying for attention with a bulky alcohol content, intense sweetness and strong wood and tannins. They are unconstrained wines characterized by their origin - and seem to be from a time when the character and individuality of a wine was not sanded down by technology. Wines which – as Loimer knows very well – can be underestimated because of their lightness and unpretentious style.

Exquisite expression of the grüner veltliner grape from one of Loimer's highest, coldest sites, vines planted in slate-rich soil: precise crystalline flavours of citrus blossom and almond kernel, thrilling and nervy along the tongue. The 2016 Loimer Spiegel Grüner Veltliner (not, unfortunately shipped to Australia) by contrast, from a slightly lower-altitude, south-facing, loess-soil vineyard, is richer, more mouth-coating, rounder.

Spicy nose, some yeast, ripe apples. This can only be Loiserberg!
Thanks to the great vintage, deliciously juicy and sappy. The cool weather delivered the necessary acidity in order to ensure sufficient drinking flow despite the high extract.
High drinkability is already ensured, though 10 years of maturity are guaranteed here! Drink 2017-2026.
