The second single vineyard chardonnay off the rank, crafted with Burgundian clones 95 and 96. More resinous. Umami creaminess. Toasted nuts, praline and vanilla-cedar oak tones. A weightier palate that is still, in the scheme of things, medium-bodied and restrained, belying the wine's thrumming intensity. The integration of each component is impeccable. Again, an air of generosity despite the underlying tension and precision. These are not wines reliant on sulphuric matchstick aromas, but on high quality fruit, sensitive handling and propitious sites.
