Always among the finest renditions in the country, eschewing the sweet/sour tropical projectile of flavours in the name of something ethereal but punchy, slaty and mineral-pungent. Herbal and palate-staining. Intensity! A brethren to the great expressions of the Loire, a la Sancerre. Nothing obviously fruity about this. Some nettle and greengage. Yet it is the drive; the palate whetting thirst for more; the texture. These factors are the mettle of this wine.
