Note: from a .40 ha parcel in Les Montiotes Hautes
A very restrained, indeed almost mute nose slowly gives up its aromas of mostly red berries, earth and soft floral nuances though it does so with an attitude. There is a lovely sleekness to the supple and velvety broad-shouldered flavors that exhibit good power and drive on the firmly structured and overtly austere finale that offers excellent persistence. Patience required though, as this should age gracefully for years.

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has turned out well, displaying aromas of cassis, plums, smoked meats, dark soils tones, espresso roast and peonies. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, muscular but elegant, with succulent acids and powdery tannins, capturing the power of which this site is capable but rendering it with refinement. The finish is long and perfumed.
