2018 Bernard Baudry Les Granges Chinon, Loire Valley

Organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. Les Granges is the Baudry family’s vin de bistroa delicious, entry-level Cabernet Franc designed for early drinking. It comes mostly from the Estate’s younger vines (planted between 1985 and 1988) grown on the alluvial gravel soils of the terraces by the river Vienne. 

Blackcurrant/blackberry Cabernet Franc fruit, black pepper and anise. It’s equally vibrant on the palate, which relies just as much on its crunchy acidity as its lively tannins. This spring, it’s the perfect wine to have in one hand when you’ve got a barbecued lamb cutlet in the other.
