The oldest reserves of the Tesseron family’s Grande Champagne lie nestled in their 13th century Paradis cellars. This special limited-edition Cognac derives from eight demijohns; 25-litre heavy glass flagons that are marked “1898”. Cognacs are traditionally transferred from barrel to demijohn after 75 years and the aging process continues, albeit at a very slow rate. The demijohns that gift the world this remarkable Cognac was not a single wine, but rather a blend of 88 Grande Champagne Cognacs that were put to demijohns in 1898. The blends would have included Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche along with many other grape varieties that were planted and flourished before phylloxera and long before the formation of the AOC. Only 286 bottles were produced of this singular treasure. We have only one for this offer.
