Mid brassy yellow colour with a nutty/nougat bouquet, pinoty and rich throughout, the palate full and round, very dry and quite firm at the close, with almost a touch of austerity, which makes for a very appetising and food friendly wine. Comte de Lamotte Grande Réserve Brut is a classic, finely balanced Champagne that leans into freshness, finesse and quiet confidence rather than overt power. Produced in the heart of Champagne using a traditional blend dominated by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this cuvée is crafted to showcase elegance and drinkability while still delivering the depth expected of a non vintage Grande Réserve style. Long ageing on lees builds complexity and texture, while careful blending ensures consistency and harmony from bottle to bottle.

The aromatics are clean and inviting. Fresh lemon, green apple and pear sit alongside white peach and subtle floral notes. With air, hints of brioche, almond and gentle toast emerge, adding a layer of sophistication without overwhelming the fruit. There is a sense of precision here, bright but never sharp.

The palate is lively and refined. A fine, persistent mousse carries citrus and orchard fruit across a crisp, well balanced frame. Flavours of lemon zest, apple skin and stone fruit are supported by refreshing acidity, while subtle notes of pastry and hazelnut from lees ageing add depth through the mid palate. The finish is clean, dry and elegant, lingering with freshness and a gentle chalky note that invites another sip.
