Chardonnay, Pinot. Light-mid straw-yellow colour; very nutty bouquet shows some aldehydes, with an almond-meal, toasted-nut and almost marzipan note, the aldehydes lending some sherry-like character. Barrel fermentation suspected. The palate is rich and powerful with terrific concentration. A rich and mult-layered wine with a very persistent finish and cleansing, appetising dryness that begs another sip. Voluminous flavour. An outstanding Champagne and a discovery for me.
