Josef Chromy arrived in Tasmania as a refugee after the Second World War and went on to become one of Australia's most respected food and wine pioneers. Established in 2007, the winery has earned an enviable reputation for producing cool climate wines that reflect the pristine environment of northern Tasmania, with a strong focus on elegance, balance and exceptional fruit quality.
The fruit for the Tasmanian Cuvée is sourced from cool vineyards across northern Tasmania, where long sunshine hours, crisp nights and maritime influences create ideal conditions for premium sparkling wine. Produced using the traditional method, the wine spends time on lees to build texture and complexity while retaining the freshness that has made Tasmanian sparkling wine world renowned.
The colour is a brilliant pale straw with a lively stream of fine bubbles. Aromas of green apple, lemon zest and white peach are complemented by hints of brioche, almond and citrus blossom. The palate is crisp and refined, combining vibrant citrus and orchard fruit with a creamy mousse and delicate yeast complexity. Bright acidity and a subtle mineral edge bring freshness and precision to a long, elegant finish.
Perfect as an aperitif or alongside freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon blinis, tempura prawns or a creamy triple cream brie with fresh sourdough. Enjoy now while its freshness and lively sparkle are at their best.
