This is fresh and youthful for a blend that has most likely spent at least six years on lees. Fruit drives the wine, with lemon/citrus aromas with honey notes and traces of flint. A whisper of bready development and the palate is crisp and refreshing, refined and harmonious, without obvious dosage sweetness. An excellent sparkling wine in a fresher, fruit-driven style. 2013 base; the third and final disgorgement. 72 months on lees. Chardonnay 60%, pinot 40%. This is superlative. A juicy bead, towing flavours of brioche, cinnamon spice, tarte tatin and quince long. Far! The acidity juicy, melded to the core of leesy nourishment. An impeccable balance between freshness and ampleur. A stunning domestic fizz.

The Cuvée is usually chardonnay dominant but embraces the complexity that pinot noir and reserve wines can bring to the blend. Long lees ageing (approx 60 months) adds richness. Low dosage enables greater purity and expressiveness. Source from a single vineyard with 2 different chardonnay blocks and 2 different pinot noir blocks, all hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, fermented & matured separately until blending. MLF is minimal to preserve acidity and freshness.
Tirage bottled in early spring following vintage. Wonderful freshness, vibrancy and complexity which can only be achieved with great fruit, gentle handling and patience – time in bottle. Terrific intensity of white fruit, florals, strawberry, brioche & nuttiness. Fine mousse is lively on the palate. Delicately balanced dosage. Long fine palate.
