Vibrant and fresh, with aromas of white nectarines, peaches and lemon pith. The palate is medium-bodied with focused acidity and a generous mouthfeel, giving notes of lime zest, chalk and mandarin rind. Easygoing with a nice texture. Drink or hold.

The 2025 Woodcutter's Semillon comprises fruit from four old-vine vineyards, ranging from 1890, 1919, 1910 and the youngest planted in the 1960s. Sixty percent of the wine is picked early (around 11 Baumé) and fermented in stainless, and the balance is picked at 13 Baumé and fermented in old oak barrel. As with the Juveniles Blanc, this wine makes sense for this area—it's grassy, crunchy, textural, waxy and wide. It's a richer, weightier wine than the aforementioned, and in its singular way, it is focused and linear. This is very good.

Pale with a flash of green and bright characters of lemon, lime and grapefruit, hints of white flowers, lemon zest, almond paste, crushed stone, clover blossom, cut fennel and a wisp of melon. Crisp and refreshing with a light texture, a touch of estey pineapple coming in on the palate, and a briny acid line that gets the saliva going. Drink to 2031.

Pale straw and bright in appearance. Pretty aromas of lemongrass, citrus pith, bath salts and waxy lemon. Mouth-filling, creamy, lemony, pithy and with smart length and line. Drink to 2031.

Woodcutter’s Semillon shows another side of Torbreck beyond the estate’s powerful reds. Founded in the 1990s by David Powell with deep Rhône inspiration, Torbreck has always focused on old vine Barossa fruit and respectful, traditional winemaking. Today Chief Winemaker Ian Hongell continues that philosophy, working closely with growers across the region. While Barossa is famous for Shiraz, it also holds historic Semillon plantings that can deliver brightness and subtle texture when handled with restraint.
Fruit for Woodcutter’s is sourced from four old-vine vineyards, the older three dating to1890, 1919 and 1910, while the youngest was planted in the 1960s. Sixty percent of the wine is picked early for fresh character and fermented in stainless steel. The balance is picked at full maturity and fermented in old oak barresl. The aim is a clean, dry white that captures the citrus driven side of Barossa Semillon while remaining lively and food friendly.
Pale straw in colour, the aromas open with lemon zest, green apple and citrus blossom layered with hints of fresh herbs. The palate is light to medium bodied and crisp, with citrus and orchard fruit carried by bright acidity. A gentle textural note builds through the mid palate before finishing clean and refreshing.
It pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, salads and light poultry dishes. Best enjoyed in its youth for vibrancy and clarity, it will hold comfortably for five to seven years, developing subtle honeyed nuance.
