1993 Geoff Merrill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale

Geoff Merrill - Winemaker: ‘Brick red colour. Sweet, clean fruit. Aromatic. As all of these wines acid evident. Steely fruit Characters, seems slightly lower acidity but some initial V/A. Quite good structure and tannin. Tasting well. Showing predominant Coonawarra Cabernet characters. Cedar and cigar box, aromatic. Good mouthfeel. 2½hours open: Clean fresh aromatic, lifted Coonawarra cabernet fruit. Tannin structure opened up acid still evident. Decant ½ hour prior to serving. Drank decanted wine 9 hours later and it drank magnificently.’ Tasted Aug 2014.
