51% Chardonnay , 49% Pinot Noir from 17 premier and grand crus; ageed more than 6 years on lees; 11g'L dosage.
The hot summer of 2006 yielded muscular Pinot Noir ('too strong' fror Camus) and fruity Chardonnay, so he boosted Chardonnay fron 40% to a marginal 51% majority.
It's a rich and fleshy expression of a ripe vintge, even showing spricot notes now, filled with aged complexity of toast, honey and brioche, just beginning to become tertiary for the first time, with nuances of wood smoke and hint of green olive.
I've tasted it more than a dozen times over the past six years, and while it peaked in early 2014, it has managed to uphold its integrity in a fleshy palate with citrus accents, balanced with a touch of fine phenolic grip. it's come to the end of the prime of its life, just in time for the release of the 2008.
