Aromatics are fresh with red and black berries dominating and following through to the palate. Juicy mouthfeel that refreshes a chunky oak structure with vanilla, toast, redcurrant and cherry flavours. The finish is long and clean supported by good acid. Tasted: September 2017. Out tasting panel gave it 18/20.
Halliday’s comments:
This also has excellent hue, with little difference. In theory, this is a bolder, more obviously Australian wine, but in this vintage it isn't, but needs no apology. It doesn't have the fleshy opulence of the Heathcote Shiraz, instead with an elegance to its medium-bodied fruits of red and black cherry, oak evident, but not obtrusive. Another success? Absolutely.
