2011 Poderi Aldo Conterno Conca Tre Pile Barbera d'Alba, Piedmont

Located in Monforte d'Alba, Poderi Aldo Conterno is considered one of the finest producers in the region.

Today the company is run by three sons of Aldo : Franco, Stefano and Giacomo who followed in the footsteps of their father carry on the family tradition. In 1969 they bought the "Favot" farm and founded the estate "Poderi Aldo Conterno".

The “Conca Tre Pile” is a hilly area in Bussia Soprana (Monforte d'Alba) whose main vines are Barbera’s with vineyards having a maximum age of 45 years.

Black and blue fruits, crushed wildflowers, graphite and baking spices swirl in this seductive ’11 Barbera from Barolo master Aldo Conterno. Inky purple in the glass and silky smooth on the palate, this wine is deeply tasty, very complex and thoroughly enjoyable. Barbera’s trademark zingy acidity, ripe cherries and pretty floral perfume work hold hands and sing an especially joyful song when held in the hands of the maestro that is Poderi Aldo Conterno.
