The 2013 vintage in the Yarra Valley was rated overall as ‘excellent’ with ideal conditions for all varieties - warm and dry growing conditions were fairly consistent throughout the season and extended through to mid-April. Whilst yields were down on 2012 vintage, the wines show full and balanced flavours with a great depth of colour.
2013 Mululuk Pinot Noir could not have made a better entrance onto the wine stage.
The nose displays dark berries and dark cherries with a subtle complexity from the whole-bunching. The palate is laden with ripe dark berry fruit flavours and possesses great weight and depth. A complex mouth-feel is accentuated by savoury nuances and completed by fine, spicy tannins. We are confident that this pinot is better than some selling above $25.
